Vintage is the word!
Nowadays in the world of fashion, a common word you hear from all fashionistas (celebrities and non..?) is VINTAGE. Everyone is going Vintage crazy and there seems to be a never ending backslide to the 50s fashion. To clear the air, all fashion up until the 20s belong to the "antique family", from the 20s to the 60s are in the "Vintage family", clothing from the late 60s to the 80s belong to the "Retro family" while those being produced in recent times are called the contemporary clothing.
Vintage clothing are known for their uniqueness, quality and style. This leaves one wondering if the new generation is going out of style and taste as you could hardly get clothing with such exquisite quality these days.
With special thanks to the celebrities, Vintage clothing is now a huge fashion statement. Clothing designers are coming up daily with new ideas of revamped old (40s, 50s, 60s) clothing with a little or no touch ups. We see more of Vintage on both red carpet events and other day to day special functions.
We have Vintage cars, dresses, shoes, bags and other accessories in jewelries and belts. For all you fashionistas who are yet to update their wardrobe, hurry up before you are left behind.
For those of us who like being edgy, you could spice up your Vintage by adding a little modern touch to make it VintageModern.
Vintage clothing could be found in most high street fashion shops. Let me also add that you do not have to spend so much money to buying Vintage clothing. Here is a little idea that won't hurt........visit one of the many charity shops at the street corner, flea market or an antique shop and you won't believe the amount of Vintage they have there. If you are a low budget fashionista like me, you get some of those cheap Vintage, revamp them with a little touch of YOU and you will look a million dollars.
